💞 What Is Love, Really?
You know… sometimes I sit and wonder — what is love?
And the truth is, I don’t think it’s just one thing.
Sometimes it’s that butterfly in your stomach.
Sometimes it’s a sweet little ache in your heart that you can’t quite name.
Other times… it’s just a clean home and a warm cup of coffee.
It’s the comfort of a neat bed.
A head massage after a long day.
A long, slow hug where nothing needs to be said.
Sometimes love is just presence.
Just sitting next to each other without a single word.
Or someone standing up for you when the world is too loud.
It’s a random call that says, “I thought of you.”
It’s holding hands.
It’s satisfying sex.
It’s a hot meal already made before you ask.
It’s sharing a cup of tea like it’s the most sacred thing.
Sometimes it’s being able to tell that one person everything.
Sometimes it’s in those hidden glances across a crowded room.
Or holding hands while crossing the road like children.
It’s the sadness of waiting and the happiness of finally seeing.
It’s the complaints. The fights. The moments we hurt each other.
But also… the decision to stay.
Love is not perfect — it's all the bad things and all the good things.
It’s messy, healing, frustrating, magical.
Sometimes love is a kiss.
Or just a lap to rest your head when you’re too tired to be strong.
What I’ve learned is this —
Love is not always fireworks or fairytales.
It’s in everything. And it is everything.
And most of all…
It’s true intention.
That quiet, steady intention to care, to stay, to show up — even in the smallest ways.
And sometimes, even when it feels like it’s gone, it hasn’t really left.
Maybe love doesn’t leave — it just changes.
